There are literally hundreds of public school teaching jobs in China every month. No joking. The demand for English teachers in China is amazing. The problem... public schools in China typically don't pay that much and often there is very little in the way of organization and even less support.
Footprints has had some schools approach us to hire teachers for their public schools who didn't know where the teacher was going to live, some said they couldn't pick the teachers up at the airport and in some cases no one at the school could speak English.
Imagine arriving in China in Guangzhou and attempting to make your way to the school or your housing or even to a hotel near your school ON YOUR OWN. English is not widely spoken in China and Chinese people can be challenging to deal with at times, especially taxi drivers that want all your money.
