Teach Abroad in Sharjah
Sharjah is the third largest city, after Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in the ever-expanding United Arab Emirates! The emirate has a population of just over 800,000 and is the only one of the seven that lands on both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
The history of Sharjah goes back over 5,000 years and historically it was one of the wealthiest towns in the region. Sharjah’s economy continues to evolve and, since 1995, a total of 8000 new companies have opened in Sharjah’s free zones-Sharjah International Airport and Hamriyah Free Zone. It’s also worth noting that Sharjah was the first place in the region to develop a tourism industry, dating all the way back to 1932! How’s that for polite dinner conversation?
