**NOTE** As of December 31, 2010, Korean immigration will no longer accept state level criminal checks. Only FBI checks will be accepted. FBI checks typically take 3 months to process- order it early! [Regulation change announced mid July 2010]

This database is a partial list of where to get a state-level Criminal Background Check in the US.

In most states, it is the Department of Public Safety or Justice that issues state-wide checks.

For the purposes of Korean immigration, a local (i.e. county or city wide) search is not acceptable. An FBI check will always be accepted.
