March is a great time to teach students about the much-loved holiday St. Patrick’s Day! Who can resist those adorable little leprechauns and all the magic that surrounds them and their pot of gold! I know I certainly can’t.

Why not spend this March doing some fun activities that allow students to be a part of this magical month.

What Exactly is a Limerick you Ask?

• Limericks are humorous rhyming poems which have a pattern
• Limericks were originally written by Edward Lear
• Limericks combine a couplet with a triplet
• Line 1 usually introduces the character
• Lines 1, 2 & 5 rhyme with each other
• Lines 3 and 4 also rhyme
