Home Teaching Tips Back to School

Back to School

E-mail

It’s that time again….back to school time that is! No time of year is more alluring with the promise of new beginnings for teachers and students then September. Even if no one knows what the school year will bring, it’s hard to deny the anticipation and eagerness in the air for those wanting to find out. Below I have come up with my personal recipe for what back to school was like for me as a teacher.

4 Ways to Make your Life Easier on the First Day:

  1. Come prepared to be the center of attention and the recipient of numerous admirers/gawkers. The students are going to want to know all about you so be prepared to introduce yourself in a way that is fun. Perhaps a giant banner of your name that you’ve created or pictures of your life back home that you can pass around.
  2. Be firm but friendly. This is it folks, if you show your weakness on the first day the students will pick up on it right away and will make your life difficult for the remainder of the school year. Make sure that you have your own personal set of rules ready beforehand and be prepared to go over them with them.
  3. Come to class with a sense of humor – in my experience you never know what to expect in a classroom but if you come in with some flexibility and the ability to laugh then you’ll be alright.
  4. Just breath – you’re going to do a great job!

Danielle Bowes

Danielle Bowes “Footprints was the first company that I applied with and it will probably be the last, Footprints will be my first choice as a recruiter anywhere I want to teach. They helped me get exactly where I want to be and they always keep in touch wanting to know how you are doing and that makes you feel 100% safe. Mountain hiking here is amazing, the sights are beautiful, on the way up there are many temples to see, or if you prefer to only hike half way up, stop by the waterfall and have yourself a nice Korean meal; there are restaurants everywhere in this country. This is an experience of a life time, and I only hope that there are many other people that will be as lucky as me, and get a chance to experience this wonder of a country. I hope that if you are looking to work overseas that Footprints is your choice for a recruiter...trust me on that, they will get you were you want to go.”
