- Description:
Looking for an opportunity to teach in one of the most professionally run schools in Thailand? This is an amazing opportunity for first timers or certified teachers with experience. This teaching job is no holiday, you have the same expectations as you would if you were teaching in a public or private school in North America, Australia, New Zealand or the UK. Having said that, you earn a great salary here and the holidays and your disposable income allow you to travel all around the region to experience the highlights of Thailand and the rest of Asia.
Located in south western Bangkok, teachers have easy access to the city and all it’s amenities.
When teachers first arrive they go through a two week orientation and training. The training focuses on the academic requirements and expectations for teachers. At the end of this training seminar all the teachers are taken with the Thai colleagues on a 2 day trip to a resort in Thailand.
Each school is fully equipped with great resources: computer rooms, av rooms, swimming pools, internet access (ADSL) video, multi-media rooms. These schools are equipped with some of the best facilities I have seen in Asia. I am very impressed with the school layouts and the facilities and resources available to the teachers.
- PROGRAMS:
These schools offer several programs that follow an open interactive methodologies approach to teaching and learning. Lesson and unit plans are signed off on by certified head teachers:
- International Program - 80% English 20% Thai
The International Program covers K1 (3 year olds) to P6 (grade 6 or 11 & 12 year olds). K1 - P6 students receive approximately 80% of their instruction in English. The homeroom teachers are native English speakers, and instruction is based on the curricula provided by Manitoba Education, Training and Youth. The program also offers native English speaking teachers for Physical Education, Music, Computers, Library as well as Resource. The maximum class size in this program is 18, with Thai teachers providing support for the English homeroom teachers at all levels - K1-P6.
- English Program - conversational English
This program covers Nursery (2 year olds) to M3 (grade 8 or 13 & 14 year olds). At all the grade levels, including Nursery, students receive approximately 50% of their instruction in English. The Thai homeroom teachers work closely with native English speaking teachers to provide a consistent integrated approach to instruction for the N – K3 levels, and to ensure that content requirements are met for English instruction through Math, Science and Language Arts at the P1 - P6 levels. Native English speaking teachers also teach Physical Education and Computers. The maximum class size in the English Program is 25 for Nursery - K3, and 30 for K1 - M3, with Thai teachers providing support at the Nursery - K3 levels.
