One would think that just like a lawyer or an engineer or even an accountant that once you have your degree and license, you would be able to practise anywhere in the country where you got the degree and certification... makes sense.
Imagine you go to college in the USA and that you study law for however long it takes to get your degree, you article, you write the bar exam, you pass. You are now able to practise law in any state.
It would seem to me that this could present some challenges given the laws are different from state to state. Still, you can practise in any state.
As a teacher, your teaching license is ONLY good for the state where you get certified... make sense? Cuz it doesn't to me... is the curriculum really that different from state to state and province to province... some states and provinces recognize licenses from other states or provinces but in some cases you have to re-certify.
If you have teacher certification, you are definitely a stand out when it comes to teaching abroad. Most ESL teachers overseas don't have teacher certification so those with it are short listed and definitely highly regarded.

“I've just been through the SMOE orientation and started my new job. And I just wanted to say thank you to you and Footprints- after meeting all those who came through other recruiting agencies I realized how lucky I was to be with Footprints. You provided me with much more information than others received and you've always been very helpful and knowledgeable.
Thank you so much again, Susannah”
