Home Taxes in Chile
Taxes in Chile

Tax for teachers is pretty simple, you are looking at about 13% total.

  • 10% Social Security – deducted from gross pay.
  • 3% Health Care
    • many schools provide coverage by an Isapre. The deductible is ridiculously low(about 5-10% of your medical bill depending on what kind of attention that you are in need of). You will be presented with all this paperwork and red tape within the first 2 weeks of work. Make sure that you are signed into the Isapre to insure that you are contributing to the system. Otherwise the money gathers into a lump sum until you actually release it to the company.

Teacher Reviews

Shawna Walsh

Shawna Walsh “Well all I can say is it is like nothing you could ever imagine. I am half way through my year and I could never have imagined all that I would learn and experience. Teaching is great, the kids are sweet (most of the time). Korea has lots to see and do. If you like shopping, climbing or eating this is the place for you! Having gotten on the plane and spent half a year here so far I feel like I can do anything. So what are you waiting for? Get on the plane already!”
