Home Packing for Thailand Packing List

Packing List

E-mail

The following is a list of things that you may want to bring with you to Thailand.  All of these items can be found here, but you may not be able to get the brands you are used to.  Please note that this list is not complete, and you may think of things that will make your life easier when you get here.

Toiletries

  • Deodorant
  • Tampons/pads
  • Razors
  • Astringent
  • Syringes

Electronic Supplies

  • best to bring one rather than buy for sake of simplicity.  Once you get your feet on the ground there are loads of electronics markets where you can get good deals but I wouldn't recommend it as a first order of business.
  • If you bring any electronics, please ensure that you have the correct conversion equipment for Thailand. You can obtain an international conversion kit relatively inexpensively at any electronics store in your home country.

Travelling Supplies

  • Travel guide book
  • Bathing suit
  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Since most of the backpacks are made in East Asia, you may want to hold off purchasing one in Canada and get one here at a significantly reduced price.

School Supplies

  • Favorite teacher resources – bring whatever resources you consider essential to your classroom i.e. story books, craft supplies, stickers, incentive charts, etc

Money

  •     Minimum $1500.00, Cost of first month.

Other

  • Books are available second hand in some towns and cities - with so many backpackers trekking around the countryside there are often a wealth of used books around.
  • CDs

Teacher Reviews

Marie Bourgeois

Marie Bourgeois “I just wanted to say thank you all for your help with the application procedure for teaching in Korea! You helped make it go very smoothly! I've heard stories from teachers who've had a difficult time with it but I must say, I've had a great experience with Footprints and I recommend you to anyone looking to teach in Korea. Nice quick, straight-forward approach to providing information. Friendly staff too! :) Thanks again! By the way, did I mention I love Korea?! :) ”
