No vaccinations are required to enter China, and the health precautions you should observe in China are similar to those in the United States, Canada, Japan or other developed nations. Before you go you should make sure that you are up to date with your childhood immunizations, and you may want to get immunized against Hepatitis A and B- although not terribly prevalent in China, why take chances when it can be prevented? Both Hepatitis A and B require three shots over a series of weeks, so plan ahead.
Unless you are planning to go to more undeveloped locales during your stay in Asia- Laos, Cambodia or Viet Nam, for example, don’t worry about getting immunized against more exotic diseases such as: Japanese Encephalitis or Typhoid or Rabies. Other tropical diseases such as Dengue Fever and The Plague do not have commercially available vaccines, so don’t catch them in the first place! If during your stay in China you do decide to take a trip to a developing country, these vaccinations are available in travel clinics in China
