A few years back, the government in Taiwan decide to proactively restrict “off the books” purchasing and buying. They did this by implementing a lotto system and the lotto numbers are on each receipt that you receive from a registered store.
Every time you get a receipt there is a number on the bottom of it. This is your lotto number. Each receipt that you get has a unique eight digit number stamped on it. On the 25th of every odd month they announce four winning numbers. You then check your receipt numbers from the previous two months.

- January and February
- winning numbers are announced on March 25
- prizes can be collected between 4/4 and 7/4
- March and April
- winning numbers are announced on April 25
- prizes can be collected between 6/4 and 9/4
- May and June
- winning numbers are announced on July 25
- prizes can be collected between 8/4 and 11/4
- July and August
- winning numbers are announced on September 25
- prizes can be collected between 10/5 and 1/5
- September and October
- winning numbers are announced on November 25
- prizes can be collected between 12/5 and 3/5
- November and December
- winning numbers are announced on January 25
- prizes can be collected between 2/4 and 5/4
- January and February
Of the four numbers they announce, three are regular prize numbers, that are worth up to NT$200,000, and one is a grand prize number worth two MILLION NT Dollars!
For the three regular prize numbers, the amount you win is based on how many of the numbers on your receipt sequentially match the regular prize numbers.
What Do You Win?
- if any of your receipts has the same last three numbers, in the same order, you win NT$200.
- if any of your receipts has the same last four numbers, in the same order, you win NT$1000.
- if any of your receipts has the same last five numbers in the same order, you win NT$4,000.
- if any of your receipts has the same last six numbers in the same order, you win NT$10,000.
- if any of your receipts has the same last seven numbers in the same order, you win NT$40,000.
- if you match all eight numbers in the same order, you win NT$200,000.
