“There are still jobs out there... you just have to know where to look.”
Stop. Read this carefully. Footprints Recruiting is HIRING NOW. We have literally hundreds of teaching jobs starting EVERY MONTH. If you apply today, you could have a job in a week and you could be abroad teaching in a little over a month.
Stop. Think about this. ANY degree. Free airfare. Free housing. Good salary. It comes as no surprise to anyone that this global recession is affecting people dramatically. Uni grads are having a tough time finding work and recently hired people are looking at being the first to lose their jobs. This is not a fun market for job seekers. So hold on, why not have an experience of a life time. Teach English for a year or two overseas. Earn great money, have your airfare and housing paid for, heck, you can even send money home to pay down debt or play the market and hopefully take full advantage of this current economic fiasco.
Many jobs require that employees have some sort of background in the field but gaining this initial experience can seem impossible and time consuming. According to a recent article on CNN.com, however, some fields of employment are not only doing well, but they’re in need of manpower. “The movement toward universal preschool and all-day kindergarten will require more preschool and kindergarten teachers. A necessity for more special education teachers is the result of a greater emphasis on classroom inclusion of disabled students. To meet the needs of special education and ESL students, classrooms will need additional teacher assistants.” But we’re back to square one, needing the experience and/or education to break into the field; that’s where teaching overseas can become a critical bullet point to add to a resume or higher education application in need of variety and uniqueness.
Whether it is working in a public or private school in South Korea, Taiwan or China, there are endless possibilities after gaining this work abroad experience. Completing a minimum one year contract abroad proves determination, courage and an adventurous sense of self to an employer reviewing a resume. Not only has this experience gotten ESL teachers into the teaching field in their home country, but it has also inspired countless teachers to pursue careers in fields such as International Law, International Business and Communications. And that’s just the tip of the ice berg.
Moreover, with the ESL market growing at an exponential rate, world class companies, such as Disney English (Walt Disney Corp.) have begun to enter into this field with excellent incentives and future employment opportunities within the company itself.
Never has there been a better time to work, travel and earn a good salary while amplifying your resume towards a bigger and better future.

“I've just been through the SMOE orientation and started my new job. And I just wanted to say thank you to you and Footprints- after meeting all those who came through other recruiting agencies I realized how lucky I was to be with Footprints. You provided me with much more information than others received and you've always been very helpful and knowledgeable.
Thank you so much again, Susannah”
