Details This school is part of a large chain with locations across Korea. Benefit from the well developed and proven curriculum and large staff at this school that create a supportive atmosphere.
The school has an excellent curriculum and the students, ranging from five to thirteen years old (preschool, elementary and middle school), learn many aspects of the English language. While the focus is centered on conversation, they also include phonics, reading, comprehension, writing and grammar.
The students excel in speech and story/essay writing contests held once a year. The kindergarten students learn a two year program with new themes every month. The afternoon students learn English through a six year curriculum with new books every year and new themes every month, They may also be learning through an American curriculum which focuses on reading comprehension, but also involves many facets of the English language.
A teacher here would have a wide range of students based on their schedule and a mix of different curriculums. the teachers prepare for their classes by making weekly lesson plans or syllabi. These are created by adapting the lessons from the teachers’ guides for their own classes. Monthly reports and phone teaching ensure that the students are continuing to learn, both at school and at home. The school is a well established private school in Korea and is therefore a safe place to work. Pay is always on time and on the tenth of every month. They have a large foreign staff at the Haeundae branch with approximately twenty teachers. They are a social group that does many activities together both after work and on weekends and holidays.
The school is located in Haeundae New Town. There are many restaurants, supermarkets, bars and gyms very close to the school. There is also a department store, a swimming pool and a movie theater. The school is about a twenty to thirty minute walk or very short taxi ride to Haeundae beach. Most teachers live right next door and many other foreigners also live in this building. Haeundae is in Busan, which is often likened to San Francisco because of its geography, climate and scenery.
Located in the Haeundae neighbourhood of Busan, you can't ask for a nicer location. Haeundae offers arguably the best beach on the Korean peninsula (and also the most popular!). The beach and city draw thousands of visitors to take a dip in the ocean or shop and eat in the many shopping centers and restaurants of all different types foods.
