Details Soongsil English Town, with a staff of highly qualified individuals, has developed an English language curriculum to meet the needs of Korean students. This program targets elementary school students who seek an authentic English classroom learning environment and students returning from overseas or those preparing to travel and study overseas. We also target middle-school students who are preparing to enter English language high schools and those preparing for standardized tests. This curriculum meets the needs of both returnees and non-returnees.
Our success stems from bringing students through specific levels tailored to meet their learning needs. The curriculum places equal emphasis on all essential areas of English language learning: speaking, reading, phonics, sight words, comprehension, listening, and writing.
An English-only atmosphere is introduced to the students. Students may be in an EFL environment, but we offer them the atmosphere, books, and homework necessary to practice and apply what is learned both in the classroom and at home.
Soongsil English Town opened an R&D department in 2006. In September 2008, we opened Prime Campus, next to our main Reading Town campus, to meet the needs of our high-level students. We recently published our own Phonics and Sight Word books (12 in total).
We are located in downtown Seoul, the capital city of Korea. The culture and traditions of Korea’s past have been preserved which makes sightseeing and taking trips around the country on weekends an enjoyable experience. Few countries offer such a unique blend of tradition and high tech new age. Our institute and the teachers’ apartments are located on a subway line which will make getting around to all parts of the city trouble free.
