Suwon is another day trip destination, located very close to Seoul. Suwon is more or less a suburb of greater Seoul and can be reached by train. Suwon is a fortress city with a large wall protecting the inner city. At one time Suwon would have been contained within these walls but now it seems to have over spilled into the surrounding area. One can scale the walls and it does indeed make for a pleasant morning/afternoon stroll. The walls are punctuated at intervals by a series of old gates. Suwon is sometimes called the capital of Korean football because the popularity of the Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
Not an early riser? Start your work day at 3pm at this school. Use your days to see the sites, go shopping and get your errands done. Teaching mostly middle school students in the evenings at this well known branch of a popular chain.
