THE SCHOOL: This chain school has two locations in Ningbo, both of which are fully equipped with course books, teachers' manuals and extensive classroom materials. The Haishu School is located in downtown Ningbo and has over 1000 students. The Jiangdong School has about 700 students and is located near the east river area of Ningbo. Each location has a foreign Academic Manager, a dedicated teacher's office with free internet access, and outstanding teaching resources, including classrooms equipped for multimedia teaching. Every Teacher works with a Bilingual Teaching Assistant in small classes. Teachers focus on providing outstanding classes and developing their students, while our Teaching Assistants communicate with parents, grade homework, and assist in the classroom.



THE CITY:

Ningbo is on the southeastern coast of China, in Zhejiang province. The city is two hours from Hangzhou and will soon be only two hours from Shanghai, thanks to a new bridge across Hangzhou Bay. The city itself is a charming blend of old China (hutongs, markets, and temples) and the new (skyscrapers, western restaurants, music clubs, cafes). Zhejiang, throughout most of Chinese history, is known for its contributions to China's art and literature. Ningbo is home to the oldest private library in China, a modern art museum, numerous galleries and theaters, and a thriving intellectual community. The city is one of the cleanest in China, thanks to progressive environmental policies like prohibiting motorcycles in the city center. Within hours of Ningbo are thousands of islands off the coast, one of which is Putuoshan, a prominent center of Buddhist Scholarship in China. Ningbo is a great city with a combination of gardens, winding canals and small bridges, fascinating cultural heritage, and a modern outlook, all make Ningbo an ideal welcoming gate to the rest of the country.
