In most cases, finding accommodations is your responsibility. Most schools will provide assistance and will arrange temporary accommodation but in general, this is your responsibility.

Homestays in Chile

If you choose to live with a family, it will be a great experience as Chileans are warm and hospitable. You will get to experience typical Chilean dishes and glean some insights that you might not otherwise be privy to.

Apartment or Houses for Rent in Chile

If you live on your own, rent will run around $80,000-$150,000 depending on the community you live in and the size of the flat. Some of these prices will include bills and you can also look for places that are furnished. Deposits generally are first month’s rent, sometimes first and last month’s rent.

Power in Chile

Electricity is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Three-pin plugs and screw-type bulbs are used.
