University Diplomas 3 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Hello, I am entering my 3rd year of study in at York University, Canada and I was wondering: Do all BA's have to be 4 years? My program is 3 years in French Studies and afterwards, I'm getting a TESL diploma with over 200 hours. Do I still qualify to apply with Footprints or is it restricted to just 4 year Honours diplomas?

Kindest regards

Laura

Hello Laura,

Thank you for your post. As long as you have a Bachelor's degree you should be just fine. At this point, immigration does not differentiate between a 3 year Bachelor's and a 4 year Bachelor's.

Re:University Diplomas 1 Month, 1 Week ago
Hi, I wanted to ask a question about university diplomas as well. My girlfriend and I want to teach in South Korea for February/March, so we have started to look into applying this month. The problem is that while I will be finished all of my courses in December and will be done my degree, my graduation is not until June and I will not receive the physical copy of my diploma until then. I noticed on application requirements for teaching in Korea that they want an actual diploma photocopied. The registrar’s office at my university has said that they would be able to provide me with a paper that says that I have completed all of my requirements and am eligible to graduate, will this be enough or do I have to wait until June to apply?
Thanks.

Hi Ash,

It depends on your nationality. Canadian citizens need the actual degrees in had, so if you are Canadian then your start date will be pushed back to the point that you receive your degree.

Americans can sometimes use a letter stating that it has been completed.

You can, however, apply to us anytime you like.

Hi guys,

I wanted to ask a question about my sister: basically, she is a UK national with a UK Diploma - she started her BA but had an accident in her final year so was unable to complete her degree & therefore came away with a diploma . She has been teaching ESOL for about 2 or 3 years, but does not have a TEFL, CELTA or any teaching qualification. As she does not have a "full degree", will she still be applicable, given her level of experience?

Please let me know where she stands as it would be great if we can both go to South Korea (or indeed anywhere) together.

Many Thanks,

MJ
