Hi i was wondering how important TEFL certification is. Is it required for all english teaching jobs? Can I get a job teaching over seas if i do not have this? I do have relative experience in the field but not official degree in teaching. However, i do have a BA in Economics. Hello,

TESL certification is not a requirement, as we have many positions for first time teachers.

However - there are more and more people going abroad these days, and fewer jobs to choose from. You want to put your best foot forward to potential employers, and additional certification will be an asset to you.
