So you want to be an ESL teacher? If you're reading this, you're starting in the right place.
Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL); or, as some call it, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) can be a great experience so long as you go in with the right attitude.
I am currently teaching ESL in a public elementary school in South Korea. I will admit, in comparison to other foreigners living abroad here, I do have a pretty sweet gig. I was placed in the newer, happening part of Busan (Jangsan ... a mere 20 minute walk to the infamous Haeundae Beach), but aside from my awesome location, I have been placed in a great school with great coteachers and co-workers. Some believe I just "lucked out" with the way my experience has been, but I think a lot has to do with the attitude.
