In House Legal Counsel
My path to Footprints was indirect, full of zigs and zags. I have worked, studied and traveled on five continents, making new friends and enjoying myself every step of the way.
Despite my passion for tasting Seoul’s sometimes eclectic street food, such as Dixie cups filled with silkworms, I most recently worked for large law firms in the United States and Canada. The opportunity to provide in-house legal support for a great globally-focused company like Footprints has allowed me to help others discover my passion for the rich and dynamic tradition of cultural exchange.
Footprints primarily places teachers in Asia, and for good reason. Visitors to the region invariably enjoy Asia’s quirks immensely, including Korea’s vibrant nightlife and renowned “morning calm”, not to mention the occasional sighting of a monk wearing shiny white Reeboks under a traditional orange robe. I studied Tae-Kwon Do in Korea with a member of the Olympic Tae-Kwon Do committee, a man with tree trunk legs and an 800 square foot office filled with tournament trophies. I tasted exotic foods and became accustomed to beginning and ending hiking trips among Buddha statues of all sizes. Indeed, a day or week abroad often provides life experiences matching years in one’s home country.
Helping others experience the work, travel and cultural exchange opportunities that Footprints promotes is rewarding on many levels, and I look forward to each day at the office knowing that we are helping people discover the experience of a lifetime.

“My experience in Korea was one of the best of my life. I know, I know…so cliché…but it WAS. I am also of the opinion that Footprints Recruiting ROCKS. My year in Korea went off without a hitch…until…sigh, the end of my contract and my last paycheck. My director tried to scam me out of about 700 USD. I contacted Footprints and they stepped in and took action against my employer. Footprints has your back during the placement and throughout your contract. Make sure you cover your butt, go with a great recruiter.”
