Can we bring pets with us?
Ask a Question: Can we bring pets with us? Specifically cats.
Answer: We've had a couple teachers who were interested in bringing there pets along but there are some important points to consider.
First, a pet will limit your freedom to a degree. By that I mean if you want to travel within the country you will be restricted by your pet. Also, if you're interested in exploring travel possibilities in other countries you will also face some problems whether with who will take care of the animal (there are no boarding facilities). Remember that when you are getting holidays, quite often everyone else is getting holidays and they have similiar ideas about traveling.
Secondly, the apartments, while they are nice, are also quite small. There is very little green space unless you go to parks or are interested in hiking so that's a consideration as well.
If you've given this some thought and still want to bring Tigger along you should check with the customs and immigration of the country you wish to go to.
In many cases the following will apply:
- all animals including pets shall be subject to quarantine. If you have the quarantine certificate for the pet, they will not have to be placed in quarantine in Korea.
* If the cats or dogs are younger than 3 months,
- they are required to have quarantine certificates or a health certificates of the pets.
* If the cats or dogs are older than 3 months,
- they are required to have either quarantine certificates which include confirmation of anti-rabies serum injection on the pets or certificates of the injection.
This is a decent site to find out what is required:
