Education and Students in Thailand

Students like to have a lot of guidance, whether this is on how to specifically do an art project or being provided a study guide for exams.  Be prepared to lead your students more than you would expect in context to where you went to school.

In the classroom you will notice differences from the setting you may be used to. Teachers often find it challenging to deal with constant background chatter, which is not a sign of disrespect.  The students don’t try to hide their chatter and it is probably the most challenging thing you will have to deal with in the classroom.  Be prepared!  Remember that this is cultural and is not meant to be offensive to you.

Teacher Reviews

Mez Lee

Mez Lee “Footprints Recruiting provided me with generous support in securing teaching employment in Taiwan. As a new comer to Taichung, Taiwan, Footprints staff were very accommodating in aiding my transition between Aussie living to Taiwanese living! The organization provided advice and support, and offered a position that suited me. Footprints also helped by providing support with travel/visa logistics, which was a great help. There is enough to think about when packing off to a new country, let alone what happens when you arrive. I was picked up at the airport and taken to a school which has great resources. I am pleased to have worked with Footprints. ”
