The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canberra Australia, has jurisdiction to process visas for residents of the following Australian States:

If you are applying for a visa in any of these consulates you may need to demonstrate that this is the area you are living. Often showing that you have a plane ticket departing from Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane etc offers reasonable grounds that the visa should be processed there.

January (some time) - Chinese New Years (determined by Lunar calendar)

April - Tomb Sweeping Day
May - Labour day (generally first Monday of the Month)
June - Dragon Boat Festival (generally near the end of the month)
September - Armed Forces Day (generally the beginning of the month)
September - Mid-Autumn Festival - (determined by Lunar calendar)
October 10 - Double Tenth National Day

Please note that the TECO office in Canberra Australia also observes the following Australian holidays. These days change year by year, please check a calendar to see when one of these days falls so you don't go to the TECO office for nothing...
