Accounts Manager
While it’s true that I am the only person in Footprints that has not lived and taught overseas, it is also true that I am half-Asian. That counts for something right? I mean, I have actual ROOTS in the major markets we work in!
Since I don’t have any stories about me teaching overseas, I will just quickly talk about how life brought me to Footprints. Since the day I sprouted into planet Earth, I spent most of my early days training and determined to become the first half-Asian Michael Jordan. I even got cut from the highschool team one year like Mike (grade 9 I believe it was). I had it all, except height…and the dunking ability…and the dark skin…ok I was nothing like him! At age 16, I switched to tennis. I competed provincially and played a few tournaments in the United States until I was about 20 years old. Realizing the difficulty of becoming a professional athlete, I decided to try something else, something completely foreign to me…STUDYING!
I decided to study business because always had an entrepreneurial side and the desire to become successful. In 2004, I graduated with Bachelor's in Business Administration from Capilano College. During my final year in the business program, I knew I wanted to continue further after graduation and study to become a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
I choose to become a CMA over other accounting designations (CGA or CA) because I wasn’t interested in public accounting, tax, or auditing but rather was seeking an MBA-like training coupled with a solid accounting base. In October of 2007, I graduated from the CMA program and started working at Footprints almost immediately.
I look forward to contributing to the continued success of this great company Footprints Recruiting.
