The seaside city of Batumi is one of Georgia’s jewels. Georgians will proudly tell you that this quaint city is the most developed, most modern, and most beautiful city in the whole country.
Imagine sitting on the promenade staring out at the sun setting on the Black Sea sipping a Rkatsiteli (white) or a Cab Sav surrounded by 19th century classical architecture nestled on the back drop of the Caucasus mountains. But, it's not all pristine silence and nature in this bustling town of about 120,000. A four-mile oceanside walkway, nightclubs, delicious upmarket reasonably priced restaurants and casinos line the seaside in what has become one of the best kept secrets on the Black Sea.The fresh smell of the sea and the crisp air are invigorating and the best part is that you feel like this is a special place that just you and the locals know about. Strangely, tourism is not massively developed in Batumi, never mind the rest of Georgia. This is a great little paradise for someone looking for unique travel opportunities in an "off the map" location.
