Getting a nanny or an amah in Brunei is getting to be rather expensive and there is a shortage of Amahs.
For single parents, during the orientation period, the client can get someone to keep an eye on your children. We have a few spouses of our existing teachers who help new teachers with babysitting while they are busy with the OC. After the OC period, we can’t guarantee someone will be available i.e. an amah with her own quota.
If possible, you will need someone on arrival to help you. You could ask a family member to come to Brunei and help you out. We have had teachers who travel with a parent or sibling and while they holiday here they help take care of children until an amah is found.
