This school is a well-established academy located near Imae Station in Bundang. The school has been operating for over six years and has a large student base. The students range in age from pre-school to upper elementary. There is a well-developed curriculum in place with all books, materials and teacher manuals provided. There is also an extensive library of supplemental and research materials, as well as classroom aids. The Teacher Room also contains all necessary office equipment, including several internet connected computers, laser printers, photocopiers and a laminator. Teachers are given a one week training course upon arrival where they will have the opportunity to observe classes and practice teach lessons in the company of an experienced teacher. The contract hours are twenty-one 80 minute hours. It is rare for teachers to work overtime hours.
The school has a well run administration. Teachers are given more than ample support not only with work issues, but with problems that might arise in the day to day life of living in a foreign country. The administration goes above and beyond in ensuring that teachers have an enjoyable and problem free experience. All legal requirements are met in terms of Korean law, including overtime payment, medical insurance and pension payments. There has never been a problem of late pay, or contract terms being unfulfilled. The teaching staff is friendly and works closely together. There is a very positive atmosphere in the office.
The apartments are located within walking distance of the school. They are new and well-maintained. Any difficulties or maintenance needs can be reported to the school, and are dealt with immediately.
Imae Station is located in Bundang, a fairly affluent suburb of Seoul. It is connected by all forms of public transportation, such as bus and subway, to Seoul. Public transportation is cheap. A bus ride to central Seoul currently costs only 1800 won, and takes 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Bundang contains all modern conveniences including supermarkets, gyms, movie theatres, a good selection of restaurants including some western chains such as Outback Steakhouse, Subway, Bennigans and numerous fast food chains. It has a healthy night life, including a few ex-pat bars, and a wide range of other bars, pubs and karaoke establishments. It is easy to find English speaking health care professionals such as dentists, doctors and specialists. There are also numerous parks, and the neighbourhood contains both a riverside biking and walking path, and hiking trails in the nearby hills and mountains. It is a very pleasant, convenient and popular suburb in which to live.
